Here is a list of 7 actors that passed away leaving their movies incomplete:
1. Marilyn Monroe
Monroe passed away due to a drug overdose on August 5, 1962. She was found dead in her bedroom in her Brentwood home by her doctor. Some say it was suicide, while others think of it as murder; to this day, no one really knows for sure. Well at the time of her death, she was busy shooting for the movie “Something’s Got to Give”, which was later discarded; however, a reconstruction was used in a documentary on Monroe’s life, entitled “Marilyn: The Last Days.”
2. Bruce Lee
Lee passed away on July 20, 1973, aged only 32. He died due to acute cerebral edema, and never woke up from a nap. He was filming “The Game of Death” at the time, and an incomplete version was released that year.
3. Oliver Reed
Reed died on May 2, 1999 due to a heart attack. He was filming “Gladiator” at the time, and he passed away during a small break from the shoot. Although he had shot most of the scenes, digital technology was used to help shoot the leftover scenes to complete the famous movie.
4. Paul Walker
Walker died in a car crash, while the shooting for “Fast and the Furious 7” was still not complete. He died on November 30, 2013. Even though the actor passed away, Universal Studios are scheduled to release the movie soon.
5. Heath Ledger
Ledger died on January 22, 2008; he was found unconscious by his housekeeper and masseuse in his Manhattan home. His death was the result of an overdose of medications. At the time, he was filming “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.” Later on, his role was completed by three actors: Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Ferrell.
6. Natalie Wood
Wood died on November 29, 1981 while the shooting for her movie “Brainstorm” was still going on. She had a boating accident in which she drowned. The movie was later released, albeit with much less pomp.
7. Brandon Lee
Lee died on March 31, 1993, due to accidental shooting on the set of the move “The Crow.” He was shot in the abdomen, and succumbed to the fatal wounds. Even after his death, the movie was still released by using a body double to complete his scenes.
